Re GoldfishWigan, Thanks, we have just booked this hotel for 2 nights mid Jan 2012 & have saved £28 by booking direct with Oxford Hotel as recommended. We would say definitely check hotel rooms search engines first then check out Oxford Hotels direct for a better deal.Kenny

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend break in Inverary, booked direct with the hotels own owners Oxford Hotels and Inns at a cheaper price than the internet booking sites like late bookings.com so don't think you always get a better deal by using these because you don't always. It only cost £98 in total for...

I stayed here recently for 1 night, this hotel is in a lovely location overlooking loch fyne and has massive potential however once inside you see the remains of what seems to be a once great hotel. Our room needed a good renovation job done to it. bed was ok but not great. the shower's hot water simply did not work so had to shower in cool/cold water.
the food at the bar restaurant was surprisingly good , inventive and well prepared. the same thing cannot be said of the breakfast the next day though adequate.

Sounds ridiculous, but we felt a bit sorry for this hotel. It is clearly a gem from the past that could be brilliant again, if only the company who now own it (Oxford Hotels) would just inject some much-needed cash into redecorating the rooms. To be fair, my Dad's room (a single) was in much better shape than ours, so...

The room was okay, the view was fantastic and the staff was so lovely. They treated us like kings with our baby and were so friendly and helpfull with the babyfood and everything.
I can really recommend this hotel for travelling with children.
