Good experience always here but if you are not part of the Music or other planned events, then avoid on that weekend as it's too busy/ noisy/late night events.... Good service, nice food, but bar prices steep (as has been mentioned) Ask for a room in the main building...more character and bigger generally Ask for any special offers (usually are)... More

Having read the mostly very favourable reviews I was confident of a very pleasant stay on my weekend break at the Links Montrose. Wrong! From the most unwelcoming check-in I have ever experienced to the 50 minute wait for breakfast, I began to wonder if I had mis-read the previous reviews. There is no doubt the lovely old building itself... More

I'm maybe a little bit biased as I got married in this hotel in April, but I'm also goingon the feedback that I got from our guests - many of whom stayed the night in the hotel. The food was lovely (and I've eaten here on a few occassions, and it has always been great), the staff are amazing, and... More

Stayed at the Links while visiting Montrose and was pleasantly surprised by the location, just across the street from a series of parks and the accomadations..........clean and relatively spacious. Complimentary morning breakfast was good with very attentive staff and hot food available and included. Did not have dinner there, but stopped for desert one night and it was excellent as... More

The hotel is not your traditional cube - it's more like someone's house that was converted into a B&B. The doors have actual keys and locks, which I have never seen. Hotel staff was nice enough, except for one waiter in the coffee shop who refused to serve us food because we didn't tell him we were hotel guests. The... More

We were warmly welcomed on arrival and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was a very good size with balcony. It had a "Game & Fishing" theme which was interesting - a bit different from plain walls. We liked the antler horn lights above the bed. There was a nice little area... More

We were welcomed when we arrived and provided with a pleasant first floor room with balcony in a modern extension to the original Victorian building. All rooms are themed and ours was named the Garden Room after the Scottish television show the Beechgrove Garden and photographs of the presenter were on the walls. Room and Bathroom were comfortable and clean... More

Staff were friendly and helpful, hotel clean and room of a very good size. We had a meal in the restaurant and it was the best meal we had in our two week holiday across Scotland. I would return to this hotel for the food alone. More
