Stayed here a couple of months ago and booked at the last minute, and the hosts could not have been friendlier. There is plenty of car parking space at the back of the property as the guest house is on a fairly busy thoroughfare in and our of Aberdeen. The facilities in the house are also very good, with Flat... More

Hi Thank you for your frank and honest review. However there are two points that I would like to make. Firstly, only rooms 1 and 2 face the main road, while room 3 window, faces the rear of the guest house. Secondly, rest assured that rooms 1 and 2 EACH have their own private facilities, without sharing of any kind.... More

I regularly visit Aberdeen with work and once I had stayed with George and Alice, there was no going back. I have even been known to rearrange meetings to make sure I can stay at the Jays. The welcome is always warm, the rooms always cosy and clean and I get apricot jam with breakfast - my treat when away... More

It was my first visit to Scotland. I accompanied my sister for a conference to Aberdeen, while she would be busy attending the conference I would be of my own the entire day to explore and to measure the length and breadth of the granite city. The location of the guest house is extremely convenient as on can access just... More

Due to a one week conference, I stayed at Jays Guest House and I've enjoyed every minute I was there. The room was cosy, perfectly cleaned every day and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was customised to each guest - fresh and simply good. Alice and George are lovely hosts who care a lot about their guests. The... More

I cannot rave enough about this wonderful B & B! Alice and George are personable, informative and charming hosts. They have a wealth of knowledge about local sights and restaurants. The accommodations were ample with lovely firm beds (my back hasn't felt so great in years), hot showers and daily cleaning! What a treat to enjoy afternoon tea (shortbread and... More

My golf partner and I enjoyed our three-night stay at the Jays during a fall golf holiday, using the B&B as a central location for playing several area courses from Carnoustie to Cruden Bay. We enjoyed the fine welcome, the excellent breakfast and hospitality, the clean and inviting rooms with en suite bathroom facilities, and the off-street parking. The only... More

Hi Guys Thank you for taking the time to give us a review, but we are disappointed that you found the beds too firm for your comfort. You will read other contrary reviews concerning the comfort of the beds - but I understand that this has no bearing on your experience. Please be assured that we purchase the beds from... More

My husband and I stayed here in June to celebrate my 60th birthday. As we travelled a long way by train we arrived early evening. We were met by Alice and when shown to our room the bottled water that I had requested when making the booking by phone were on our hospitality tray, which we thought was very effiecient,... More

In between conference and Aberdeen which is ideal although we drove in to the conference! Quite an 80's gem of a B&B. The place was absolutely immaculate, I would quite happily eat breakfast off the bathroom floor!! The couple who run the place are very welcoming, and we all felt quite at home! Breakfast is timed which is not too... More

Hi It was nice of you to give us such a wonderful review, as it lets us know that we are achieving our aims. I hope that your son's gardening business is 'flourishing', as he seems to be a level headed and intelligent young man. Further success will surely follow. Kind regards George and Alice More
