I arrived at Ballymote House feeling rather jaded and left feeling thoroughly rejuvenated having enjoyed such a warm and friendly welcome, absolutely delicious food and wonderful nights sleeping in my comfortable bed! My tastefully furnished room looked out over the garden and the beautiful surrounding rolling countryside and James and Nicola are generous and hospitable hosts. I am looking forward... More

So glad you were able to relax and recover in the peace of Ballymote! It has that effect on masses of our guests who come down in the morning saying that they hadn't slept as well in years! Do hope to see you again Yours Nicola M-B More

Having found is superb guesthouse I booked a few nights accomodation with my partner as a wee romantic break. How surprised we where when we came up the drive through the Laurels and Rhododendrons to find such a splendid house to call home for a few days. We where warmly welcomed by James & Nicola the owners, who made us... More

We had to return to the area recently and had no hesitation in booking ourselves into Ballymote House. This was our 3rd visit and we where warmly welcomed by both James and NIcola. It made us feel ike we where more house guests than paying guests. We where again shown to our favourite room which over looks the courtyard garden... More

I spent five nights at Ballymote Country House recently on a Red Light Equine Photonic Therapy course that owners, Nicola & James hosted. I had a really enjoyable and relaxing time there even though the course was pretty intense. Even with a very full house Nicola and James were wonderful hosts attending to their guests every need. I enjoyed the... More

James, Nicola, Camilla, and Edward were wonderful hosts and guides. Their charming home is the ideal place to have as a base for touring Belfast and the area SE of the city. Seaside dining as well as interesting historical sites nearby. The breakfasts were outstanding but the real charm is experiencing being part of the "family". More

Nicola and James are wonderful hosts, for whom nothing is too much trouble, be it any variety of eggs to accompany the outstanding, (locally sourced / home made) breakfast, booking a wonderful seafood restaurant for dinner, or the loan of an ordnance survey map for your day out. The house is full of character, and extremely tastefully decorated. The bed... More

We (my husband, myself & out teenage daughter) had a lovely stay at Ballymote at the end of May. The house is gorgeous – big and rambling, maybe in need of some repairs but still wonderfully warm and comfortable. There was a slight initial confusion over the booking-probably worth ringing the day before arriving just to remind them-their diary is... More
