Quite and remote, a good place to start exploring Downapatrick. Friendly hosts, nicely decorated rooms and your hosts take care of you well. The breakfast was exceptional for a B&B, with self made marmelade. Unfortunately, no hot shower after midnight (in case you arrive late). Would we come back? I think we would try something different (also the claimed 4* are based... More

We stayed in the delightful Swan Lodge back in August 2002 and we can see from other reviews that Liz and John are still providing excellent accommodation and service. From our travel notes at the time... "(Swan Lodge) was a little out of town, with a wonderful view overlooking the bay. On arrival, they gave us a cup of tea... More

On October 29 2011 my significant other, his parents and I arrived much later at night than the anticipated time we had told our host and hostess. John welcomed us and lit the fireplace so we could relax before we retired for the night. The water pressure in the shower and temperature were the best I had experienced during my... More

Nothing negative to say about this B&B at all!! Made to feel very welcome, very clean rooms, great views from property, great breakfast - especially the porridge! Highly recommended. More

My wife and I arrived at Swan Lodge on 8 September 2011 for a 5 nights break. We were very pleased with our choice, which proved to be a comfortable, pleasant and very quietly situated bungalow. John and Liz made us very welcome, and one thing was soon apparent - that the "unfriendliness" criticised by a previous reviewer is nothing... More

Accommodation etc fine. Personality of both of the proprietors left an awful lot to be desired. Very unfriendly. Some awful fan or something came on at 05:45 both mornings. More

John and Liz were very accommodating, despite my VERY last-minute booking. I interrupted a family birthday, but they still made me comfortable and welcome. Breakfast was homemade bread and jams, a gorgeous veggie omelet, and French-press coffee. A little off the beaten path, but very prettily situated. More
