Stayed at Bowdens with a friend for one night in November 2007.
We stayed in room at front of house which was pretty large with 2 single beds.
We arrived at 830 am, very early but were let in and shown room. Given stern lecture on the dangers of losing door keys and left to our own devices.
The room itself was equipped for a nuclear holocaust - there were plates, cutlery, hair dryers, bottle openers, towels, duvets, sink, sofa bed, more blankets, ashtrays ... so many trinkets and pictures and wall hangings you'd be forgiven for thinking you had booked into a bric a brac shop!
Having said that, the room was pretty comfortable and warm. The shared bathroom was clean.
The overall feel was of staying at your gran's house for the weekend. We only met Mr Bowden's who was very straight to the point and brisk. Mrs Bowden's remained anonymous, only to be heard in the kitchen or upstairs.
The breakfast was ok - shared table with scary...
