I stayed here with my girlfriend on the Saturday 11th Feb for Valentines. The staff were very pleasent and helpful. The rooms were great, spacious and comfortable. I had requested before our arrival for a quiet room as I didnt want to be beside the main street. We were given room 401 at the back of the hotel which was... More

The Mal Maison Belfast was chosen for our city break as we got a great offer for 2 nights plus breakfast-- this was cheaper than the Hilton. That said, we were disappointed as their were some things in room that were just not quite right. If you are a light sleeper, or don't want to hear your neighbours, bring earplugs.... More

The Malmaison tries hard to to be distinctive and unusual but whether or not its gloomy ambience and the mock-gothic bedroom furnishings appeal will depend on your taste. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the beds were comfortable; the standard of breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Our room was above the bar and the soundproofing was... My husband and I had an overnite stay as we were attending a concert at the Waterfront Hall. My son had bought this as a Christmas present, this was as a package, eat, drink and stay. The hotel was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. We had a meal in the restaurant but were very dissappointed as there wasn't... More

Just back from a 2night stay with my girlfriend. Have stayed before and this visit was just as good. Great location close to shopping and bars. Had dinner in the hotel both nights. The waitress (elaine i think?... from limavady) was top notch. Very approachable and did everything with a smile, made time to speak to us even though she... More

If Tim Burton was designing upmarket hotels, he would probably fashion something like the Malmaison. It's a gothic world of candles, dark furnishings and velvety cushions. This one in Belfast is a real treat albeit beginning to look the tiniest bit worn around the edges with slightly grubby carpets and worn fittings. Location - Ideal beside Belfast's Cathedral Quarter (the... More

Everything is pretty much what you'd expect from a Malmaison; modern, friendly and a great martini. We stayed for a weekend in a very wet and windy January and Mal pretty much made our trip. Check in on a friday night was a little haphazard but friendly and actually quite funny. I find it's best not to be too snotty... More

Malmaison always has a nice urban chic feel.. some may say it is dark and dingy! The room and smellies were lovely. The hotel itself is central. it's not too far to walk to the St George saturday market and shopping centres. There are some lively local bars not too far away but we had some nice drinks in the... My husband and I stayed here for a week from the 9th Jan 2012. It's location to Belfast City Centre is fantastic, close to everything. We had planned 4 days but kept extending our stay as it was just so relaxing. The staff deserve special mention, nothing was ever too much trouble for them and they always had a smile... More

Malmaison in Belfast is part of a wider chain of hotels (mainly UK based) that try to bring a little of the urban chique associated with better heeled cities than Belfast... and it succeeds quite well if this is the kind of place you associate with your own personal style choices. It undoubtedly emerged during a period of in-austerity and... More
