I stayed here for 1 night. On arrival there was a note stuck to the front door with my name on giving me clear instructions of how to get into the hotel and which room I would be staying in. I did not have a problem with this but as other reviewers have advised there is a saftey worry to... More

Pls ignore the other reviews they seem a tad dramatic to me.stayed here for 2 nites for a wedding. The thing is you get what you pay for,the lodge is 2 converted houses. rooms are basic reminded me of living back with my.mum (but who cares when u just need somewhere to lay your head) bathrooms are shared except a... Well future guest,as my headline suggest, the place had warmth and friendliness that reflects the city itself. The owner and his partner, and all the staff, were friendly and always found the time in their busy schedule to talk with the quest-and were honest about not charging full-amount to guest that declined not having full-breakfast or just consummed toast. How many establishments would do that?The... Contrary to everyone elses opinion, we found it to be good value. The room wasn't perfect but was good for our needs. The breakfast was good aswell. We didn't mind any of the bad, it had beds and warmth and food and seemed good value to us.

That old expression "you get what you pay for" sprung to mind when i booked a 2 night stay here. Now i tend to overlook the finer details of B&B/hotel/guest houses like cleanliness, size, value etc BUT one thing i always judge is the attitude of the owners.!! This guy (male owner - wife nowhere to be seen) was so... More

ABSOLUTELY APPALLING. Mattress steel springs flat so old, only fit for the dump. Carpet none existent or cheap and useless - someone going to the toilet reverberates like a herd of elephants. Towels and bedding threadbare and multi-stained. Curtains like tissue paper - sun straight onto face as soon as dawn broke. Room dirty, hair on floor, dust and stains... More

The Parkview Lodge was by far the worst B&B I have ever had the misfortune of staying in. We arrived to a note apologising for not being greeted at the door, inside which was a security code for the front door (there was another note for another guest here too, I can only assume with the same code in... so... Had the same experiences as a lot of other reviewers here - broken shower, dirty bedsheets covered in pubic hair and poor service.

At first glance, it's a lovely bedroom with everything in place, until me and my partner discovered that the bed sheets were unchanged! There were pubic hair (my guess, but you know what I'm talking about) and short body hair on the sheet. It could have been missed by some people but I guess the person who slept in the... More
