This is first class accommodation and brilliant hospitality from John the owner. From the moment of arrival, nothing is too much trouble. For us the location is ideal, only a mile and a half from Aberystwyth, with plenty of good places to eat, as well as being close to the university and the National Library of Wales. We've been coming... More

Penybont is 1st class accommodation. We booked for one night to visit our son in nearby Talybont. Room was very clean, comfortable and warm with extra pillows and blankets in the cupboard should you need them. Ample storage space although we didn't need it all owing to only staying one night. Shower was brilliant not just a trickle. Fabulous breakfast... More

I have to disagree with a previous reviewer and argue that the owner of this establishment endows his accommodation with the best hospitality that one would expect from a B&B. Everything was lovely - the comfortable bed in a well-appointed room that has tea and coffee making facilities next to the bed, a hairdryer and a spare adapter should you... More

Stayed here with my wife for 1 night for a short break in the Aberystwyth area. We booked based on the reviews from here and other sites, and to be honest we were not disappointed. It is situated a short (albeit picturesque) drive from the city centre, which was ideal, as it was very quiet. We chose the twin room... More

Booked at short notice for one night only; had previously stayed in the separate cottage accommodation at Easter 2011. This time we arrived late afternoon 30/12/12 and were greeted by the friendly owner John, in the middle of another Welsh winter downpour. Nevertheless with this warm welcome and excellent accommodation, all was well. The kitchen and dining area is modern... More

We stayed in the twin room for 2 nights with our two dogs. The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of room for us and the dogs. Ensuite was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner. The breakfasts were fabulous (we are vegetarian but still had a great plateful - really did set us up... More

This is a nice little house and the general standards physically are either average or good. If all is well no problem going there, but if things are not so good ... this is not the Welsh way to look after guests. I arrived at 10pm much later than planned because the weather was worse than expected. I'm used to... More

Penybont is a small place just 5 minutes drive from central Aberystwyth. When we arrived, John (the owner) met us with a warm smile and welcome using our names - a great personal touch. The twin room, whilst not huge, was well equipped - kettle, tea, coffee, bottled water, small radio, TV (with freeview) as well as an en suite... More

Just returned after a night away at Penybont, having taken my partner away for a break for his birthday. The owner John is lovely, and so is his dog!! Had a great break and would return as the B&B is central enough but far enough away from town to be secluded, its quiet and rural but just up the road... More

Stayed in Penybont B&b with my friend and her parents from Austria. It is a lovely B&B located in a quiet village just north of Aberwystwth. The rooms are very nice, well decorated and very clean. The breakfast was excellent. The owner isvery pleasant and most helpful. Would defintely stay there again. Especially as the owner is not anti-motorbike and... More
