My new date and I wanted to get drunk and decided to stay in a hotel for the night. She decided on two single rooms and we called loads of hotels and the only ones available that night were at sarum college. Bearing in mind we are both used to 4 and 5 star I knew when we were asked... More

Initially I was given an un-refurbished room which can only be described as your grandmothers box room with shared facilities but with the most incredible view of Salisbury cathedral, we spoke to reception who very kindly moved me to a newly refurbished room. The college which is situated on the close within the Sarum estate is in a wonderful peaceful... More

My solo trip to southern England was in mid January 2012, primarily to visit world class art museums in London without the crowds of summer tourists. I chose Sarum College B n B for the second half of my trip because it's only two miles south of Old Sarum (the original iron age Salisbury), about fifteen miles south of Stonehenge... More

Delighted you enjoyed your stay with us, Andrea. What a great overview of all the wonderful benefits of staying inside the Cathedral Close - a special and private atmosphere in the centre of Salisbury. We look forward to welcoming you again at a warmer time! best wishes, Christine More

I stayed in Salisbury because it was close to Stonehenge, one of the main places I wanted to see on a recent trip to England. Sarum College reminded me of the seminary I attended many years ago. They were in the process of updating the rooms in the corridor where I stayed, so perhaps in the near future I would... More

We're delighted you enjoyed your stay and happy to report that the refurbishment project is nearly finished. The final two rooms will be complete well ahead of the warm weather! We hope to welcome you back to Sarum College. More

Quiet room, no noise from outside or neighbouring rooms. Wonderful view of the cathedral from our upper floor room. Booking by telephone friendly and helpful, various options discussed and we were given exactly what we had agreed. Parking is provided which is extremely useful in Salisbury. Copious breakfast in rather institutional canteen (but then Sarum College is an institution) served... More

To be fair to Sarum College, it is undergoing extensive refurbishment currently (Sept. '12). The '3-star rating we have awarded should, most likely, be within range of an upgrade on completion of the works. The college is a theological study centre and retreat which is able to cater for the individual visitor not participating in college activities. There is a... More

I'll start with the positives for Sarum College - the location is second to none! Such an immensely beautiful place. I doubt there's a better place to stay in Salisbury! The building (designed by Christopher Wren no less) is beautiful and the staff seem lovely (I only spoke to one lady but I reckon she was probably the most helpful... More

Another find! The building is set in the cathedral close so is away from all the noise and distractions of the town itself. The close is locked at 2230 (you can get a late key) and you are in another world. The "hotel" is clean, comfortable and very friendly but it's true to its study centre origins so you won't... More

We had a comfortable stay of three nights at Sarum College. It is not a a four star hotel but neither is it meant to be. Our room was on the fourth floor - easily accessible by lift - with a slight view of the Cathedral. The ensuite was new and although small had everything necessary. Breakfast is in the... More

We stayed here for one night after a family wedding. I wasn't too sure what to expect but it turned out to be a pleasant stay. In spite of being warned they could not guarantee a parking space there were a number actually available (free parking is not always easy to find in Salisbury). I did ask if we could... More
