Farthings is a lovely old house and I was lucky enough to have the Guinea Room, which overlooks the back garden. It's en-suite with a view over the lovely back garden. Gill Rodwell is a charming hostess, who has lots of tips for things to do in the area which are not just the normal tourist fare. Breakfast is continental,... More

Jill very kindly (and bravely) offered to put up the younger element of our family reunion with the older contingent staying over the road at the Old Rectory. The accommodation was beautifully clean and very nicely appointed. Jill was most welcoming and the Market Square was a short 10 minute walk with teh Cathedral only 5 minutes farther. Jill can... We stayed here in the recent freezing weather and could not have received a warmer welcome. Our room (Sovereign) was spacious, well equipped and extremely comfortable. We had a double bed along with a single and an en suite shower room. Everything was immaculately clean and there were lovely touches such as speciality teas, soups and chocolates provided as well as top quality... More

As the hostess Gill points out, she welcomes you to her home. Don't be put off by location on map. It's a quiet oasis in a nice road just 5-10 mins walk from Market square and the cathedral I stayed here with a friend before a long walk and i was given a single room (Tanner) with a shared shower... In a blissfully quiet neighbourhood, this is a great find. Everything is spotless, my bed was most comfortable, the breakfast was just right (and served early because I had a train to catch) and the house is notable for its deft and thoughtful touches everywhere. Gill is a completely charming and attentive châtelaine. This is a top-of-the-range b&b but at... More

It's 6-7 mins from the city centre and the buses stop, but about 15 from the Salisbury train station. The en-suite room was big, clean and lovely. We arrived much before the check in time and luckily our room was ready. The breakfast is good and there are many things to drink and eat. No cooked English breakfast but hot... More

We were on a short trip from London to visit Stonehenge and the Stone Circle. The room was very cozy and very clean. The service was excellent as well as the sympathy of the host. We certainly advise a stay here. We were sorry we couldn't stay longer.

This B&B is one of the best - a real home from home and excellent friendly and considerate service from Gill Rodwell the landlady. Bedrooms super clean and comfy, all facilities including biscuits with tea trays. Hair driers and good lighting with mirrors for make up and space to spread things. Comfy sitting chairs so not just collapsing on the... More

This bed & breakfast was found at arrival through the Salisbury tourism office and better choice couldn’t be! Our stay in Salisbury started well with the tourist information office (very nice, happy to help front staff, really deserved award-winning service) then the +- 10 minutes walk from centre to Farthings… We had a very good impression of this BB and...
