My partner surprised me with an overnight stay at this hotel situated on the massive Goodwood estate. Unsurprisingly it is a magnet for the Range Rover brigade and the car park bristled with them, some almost parked neatly. Being public transport enthusiasts, however, we trained down and taxi'd from the station. The hotel is about 10 mins from Chichester station... More

We stayed one night, enjoying a lovely lunch and evening meal at the Richmond Arm, which we could not fault. Had a cycle in the gym and lovely swim (watch out floor can be a little slippery). Staff excellent. What a shame to be woken up twice in the night at 2pm and 4pm by false fire alarms, having to... More

Thank you for your comments. I was sorry to learn that an otherwise enjoyable stay was spoilt by the fire alarm sounding during the night. I hope that you understand that whilst disruptive and upsetting, we were unable to prevent this occurrence, however I must apologise for the manner in which we subsequently dealt with the situation. I would welcome... More

We stayed one night, and what a night! Luxurious room, very comfortable, clean and tasteful. It was raining the afternoon we arrived, and we found the room so cosy we stayed in. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner that night, the food was excellent, and the bar was very welcoming. We also found the staff to be very polite and professional.... More

I was booked to spend New Years Eve at this hotel for a treat as 2011 had been a tough year, unfortunetly due to the diagnosis of a terminal illness of a family member who was supposed to be with us, I had to cancel 1 week before Christmas. This was when I really understood where they stand on their... More

Classic country house hotel on the South Downs which is ideal for a short break. It has an excellent spa and health club and plenty of opportunities for walks on the downs. The room was on the small side, but perfectly comfortable and everything worked fine. More satellite channels on the TV might be good. Breakfast was first class, but... More

We were looking for a break in the uk that ticked all the boxes just before Christmas. Very comfortable rooms, lovely food with good service. The pool area was clean and a great way to relax before dinner. Staff very helpful and breakfast was cooked to order. The Goodwood hotel is a hotel that demonstrates quality throughout. We will be... For us, this was our thirty-fifth wedding anniversary and our last 'gulp of oxygen' before Christmas. It was everything we had hoped for and the staff are a key part of the whole Goodwood experience. They couldn't have been more helpful and attentive and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. We were impressed particularly by Emma P., Claire, Kate... More

We stayed here for a weekend and instantly felt relaxed. Quality room and lovely food with good service. Had a swim in the pool which was very nice and price wise we though it was very reasonable. Lovely setting with interesting historical interest. A lovely all round weekend. Will definitely return soon. More
