We had a lovely break at this wonderful hotel, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the hotel is spotlessly clean. Arundel itself is a lovely place to visit with lots of picturesque walks and to be able to park at the hotel means that you can spend all your time exploring. We will be back when the castle is... Sadly, we were allocated a room in the 'modern' wing of this hotel. I use the word modern loosely, as it was a bit of an 80's time warp. The room featured hideous, dated and fading decor that is desperately in need of full modernisation. It's a dark dingy little room as well. It was only a place to sleep... More

Dear Catcake, I am so sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us last September - the courtyard rooms do not have the same character as the rooms in the main house. We do value feedback from guests whether positive or negative and we do our best to respond accordingly. I am also disappointed that you... More

Stayed here 2 nights B&B. Very comfortable large twin room with comfy chairs and flat screen telly. Bathroom O.K. but only shower over bath which wasn't the best shower I've ever had.Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Friendly helpful staff.Very atmospheric olde worlde hotel. Only drawback, there is no lift,we were on the 3rd floor! Do ask for ground or... More

Dear Liz, Thank you so much for coming to stay with us at the Norfolk Arms Hotel and I am delighted that you had a comfortable stay. I am sorry the water pressure was not as good as you had hoped from the shower, sometimes when we are very busy the top floor pressure does drop a little. I hope... More

My friend and I had rooms in the courtyard annex. The rooms were clean and comfortable although an indication of the room numbers outside the two annexs would have been useful as it took us some time to find our rooms. There is ample parking and the hotel is ideally situated in the town. The bar was pleasant and the... More

Dear Sarah, Thank you for staying with us, and I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay. When we are next organising signage I will certainly remember to arrange some for the Courtyard rooms, thank you for drawing this to my attention. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. This is our third stay at the Norfolk Arms as a couple, although my boyfriend has visited many times with his family over the last 15 years. From the moment you go to check in you are made to feel very welcome. Every time we visit the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. There is a lovely lounge area with... More

Dear Teresa, Thank you for staying with us at the Norfolk Arms Hotel, and I am so pleased that you so enjoyed your stay. I am certainly very lucky both with my staff who are lovely and friendly, and with my building which whilst a little tired has heaps of character and charm. I do hope that we will see... More

We booked at the very last minute for New Years Eve and had such a lovey stay and a great time. We arrived at 3 and booked in to be told that tea, coffee and cake was being served in the lounge. In front of a lovely real open fire, pure bliss. Every single member of staff in this hotel... More

Stayed for a second time in December. We had a room in the annex. Plenty of free parking, centrally located for access to the town. An ample breakfast to set you up for the day. Comments about it being dated - it's a coaching inn with origins in the 17th century and therefore does have charm. Can't be beaten for... More

Dear Aligirlbear, Thank you for staying with us - and I am really pleased that you enjoy the traditional charms of a Georgian coaching inn - when you come next time, do ask for a room in the main house which has loads of character, and as you say, being in the heart of the Arundel makes us unbeatable. Have... More

We had what was described as a cosy room, which it was, however the room was a little tired and the carpet had a few stains on it. The bathroom was spacious but the place on the wall where the shower head goes was very dirty. Breakfast was included but had we not stayed the night the breakfast would have... More

Dear Hilary, Thank you for staying with us - you are absolutely right, the Hotel is steeped in history and our location is fabulous, and I have a great team at the Norfolk Arms Hotel. Apart from taking 240 Pounds from my card, after previously having paid in advance, a good check in experience, it was all downhill from there on in, or should I say, uphill. We were assigned a room on the top floor, room 16, mind your head as you enter, should you be elderly or have difficulty breathing, you may need... More

Stayed at the Norfolk Arms while on a business trip. The room was tired looking with peeling wallpaper, and the creaky bed had seen better days. My room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the High Street and the period windows did not provide any sound insulation whatsoever. The staff, however, were frendly and the restuarant food was... More

Dear JF, Thank you for coming to stay with us at the Norfolk Arms Hotel. The Hotel is old, and I do admit that some of the windows do not fit in the way of modern double glazed windows (which our Courtyard rooms have) so may not offer the peace and quiet of the rooms at the rear of the... More
