This was our second stay here, as a convenient stopover for the NEC - the hotel is a short stroll past the lake to the exhibition halls. The hotel itself is clean and cheerful, the rooms well appointed and the staff friendly and helpful. There was nothing to spoil our stay, and we would happily return. more

I booked the Crown Plaza at the last minute and I was impressed by the overall experience. The rooms were a good size, not massive but enough. LOCATION -This hotel is situated close to Birmingham airport and even closer to the "Birmingham International" train station. The train station in turn, is literally attached to the NEC (National Exhibition Centre). Despite this, the immediate area around the hotel is fairly quiet. There have been some great rates at the ICH chain of late - but some hotels do try and make up what they charge where-ever possible. I paid £65 for a suite, but could have had an ordinary room for £35 for a Sunday evening. Check in inefficient - very quiet but booked room (suite) was not available at 3pm... more

We were sent here as the Radisson, in the city, had overbooked and gave us little notice of change,and then they(Radisson) booked a double,we had booked a twin. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and I would be pleased to stay with them again . more
