Just arrived back from a stay at this hotel. Which I can only describe as the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.The bedding was stained previous users. There was pubic hair in the bathroom sink and the SHARED bathroom facilities were so poor we were left with no alternative to drive straight home the next morning without showering. We... More

Well, this was our second stay at Awentsbury which itself tells you something. It's certainly not great but we don't find it nearly as awful as some reviews describe. The main advantage is it's pleasant residential location close to Uni and our son's place in Selly Oak. Yes, the room fittings and furnishings are on the old side and it... More

The house is quaint, the rooms - well my room - spartan but perfectly adequate. Breakfast is traditional but very good and consistently so. The Wifi service is iffy at best, practically non existent in individual rooms. The location is good if you're at the university; otherwise, a car is a must. About 25-30 pounds to airport in taxi. We had travelled from Hastings to Nottingham at 4.00 that morning and then after being at Nottingham University Open Day all day, we then travelled down to Birmingham to book into the Awentsbury Hotel. Imagine my distress, when, tired, hungry and extremely tense from having to do hundreds of miles of driving in one day, I discovered that although we... More

DO NOT stay here it is the most horrible, dirty "hotel" I have ever styed in. Booked one night for a wedding and after we were shown the room by the cleaner, I was horrified to see the separate shower /toilet room . Dirty carpets, dirty brown horrible bed linen, shabby old crockery, Old Tv and the list goes on... More

I booked this hotel after 'Google-ing' hotels in the area I needed to stay in. They have a good website, almost giving the image of a classy place to stay, but now I look back at the website there are actually no interior photos shown. The room was a twin ensuite. Very dated decor/furniture and a truly appalling, old threadbare... More

I booked a room for my husband on a business trip based on the pictures they had posted on their website. My husband arrived to a shabby, unkempt, unwelcoming B&B. The kettle in the room didnt work, the tv was an old 17" tv with only 5 channels and the connection to the wifi was too low to stay online.... More

We stayed for one night only at this hotel with our daughter who needed to be at Birmingham University first thing the following morning. The location was excellent for the university - within walking distance. There was an AA 3 star sign on the outside window and an AA 2 star sign in the porch window. When the owner answered... More
