Recently stayed at the hotel for my birthday weekend, I have to first and foremost say how impressed we were with one of the barmen "Hamdi" nothing was too much trouble for this chap!! from directing us to the city centre or reccomending the best hotel menus!! Our room was on the 5th floor and if there where any views... More

My key did not work in the door and a helpful member of staff let me in. Much confusion ensued as to whether I had dumped my bag in a room already occupied. The room we held a corporate dinner in was freezing and they had to supply radiators. The food was poor, haloumi main course involved hunting for the... More

Have stayed at this hotel twice recently on business and found it to be of a good standard, reasonably close to the city centre - 5 minutes in a taxi from New Street station. My double room wasn't particularly large, but more than adequate, clean and tidy. The heating was very good on a cold night. Because of the positionning... More

We stayed in a standard double which was ok nothing to write home about but no issues either. We can't complain as room was free with Marriott rewards points. More

Not only is this hotel beautiful but it is clean and comfortable. The hotel staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. This hotel is in the middle of the city so you can walk to food, shopping, bars, and entertainment. There is limited parking but the staff is very helpful with this. I highly recommend this... More

Really good traditional styled hotel. Large comfortable room with everything you need. Best bit is a decent gym, swimming pool and steam room / jaccuzi which gives you something healthy / relaxing to do. Bar and restaurant also very good, was curry buffet night (Tuesday) in restaurant and very good curries and value for money. Breakfast really good, staff very... More

The location is perfect for anyone doing business around Five-Ways or who wants to be close to the Broad St bright lights. The city centre is a 30 minute walk away. The room was superb and very well appointed. It was quiet too, which was surprising given the location. The bed was excellent, as all Marriott beds usually are. Parking... More

I have stayed at the Marriott a few times, but apparently this is the first review I have written. A beautifully restored building, very classy. Helpful staff, good food. A couple of things though, the lack of heat, the room had a portable heater that was adequate. However, without the fan running in the system there was no "white" noise... More

The lobby and communal areas are really nice, however when it comes to the rooms they were somewhat lacking. All a little shoddy and the room was chilly - the air con did not work. I travelled with work and two of our party (myself included) were placed into disabled rooms where everything (as you would expect) was low and... More
