The Mary Arden Inn is a big surprise--in a good way. Though it's not in the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon, it's not far away. The rooms are comfortable (in an old-fashioned way), each named for a Shakespearean play. There's a restaurant and pub on premises, and if you're too late for dinner, they'll call for local take-out food. The best part... More

This Inn is located directly opposite Mary Arden's house and in a lovely village location only 10 mins from Stratford. The decor throughout is slightly dated and in need of an upgrade but very clean. We stayed in a room above the bar which was very noisy but I guess what you'd expect from an Inn which was also a... More

Stayed for a Night on Saturday 23/03/13 with my partner. Staff extremely friendly at all times. Stopped for dinner on the evening and the meal was fantastic - everything fresh, even the sauce to accompany the steaks was freshly made. Puddings and started also great. Definitely no pre-packaged or microwave food here. Breakfast also fantastic with loads of choice. It... More

We booked an overnight stay, room only super-deal here and travelled from Devon as a treat. The room was very poorly maintained: broken coat hooks and bathroom fittings; no complimentary soap, shampoo etc (we hadn't taken our own), broken chair and stained dressing stool. The cold tap ran warm water, so we couldn't have a drink at night, and the electric... More

This was the most beautiful hotel and it really helped to make out Stratford experience a memorable and fantastic one! The room was very oldy-worldy with a stunning 4 post bed. The owners were helpful without being overbearing and we had a lovely chat to the cook (and owner I think?) in the morning over breakfast (which was very tasty).... More

Had lunch here recently. The food was excellant, freshly prepared and delicious. Would recommend it, off the beaten track from the hussle and bussle but worth the drive. Very nice stop on a good day out walking.

Oh dear, needs a massive cash injection and a style guru. Clean and tidy, but basic, could be so much more. Room adequate but definitely not 4 star, more like 2.5. Staff lovely and helpful, but no heart at this Inn.

We booked a romantic weekend away here based on the reviews and I feel they over-rate the hotel by some measure. The train service between the village and Stratford stops at 8pm on the weekends. I couldn't believe it. If you had plans of a dinner or theatre, better add a taxi fair onto the night. The staff were rude... More
