Due to its excellent location, this apartment is very very noisy. I've stayed many times at many hotels in the middle of the city but have never experience such noisy environment. Perhaps the other hotels have double glazing. In addition, it was summer when we stayed there and there is no air conditioning and the apartment is very stuffy, so,... More

I'm pleased the location was good, it certainly is the best as far as we are concerned. The windows are indeed double glazed and do block out most of the noise (Though I understand 404 had a broken lock last week) When the windows are unlocked the noise does increase massively being city central. We recently have had the showers... More

Stayed in the City Aparthotel with a friend for a weekend in Newcastle, bit of shopping and relaxing and to catch up with some friends in the area. Hotel has a great location in the centre of town, so great access to all the shops, and not a long journey to get back and changed and head out for the... More

I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay, The refurbishment of the windows have made an enormous difference to the 'city buzz' even though its a pedestrianised street. Im also pleased you approve of the new decor and that these works did not affect you, Thank you for your review. Paul D Short, Head of Property. More

we managed to get 2 rooms at late notice, we arrived from manchester after driving and stuck on the A1 due to traffic. I was glad to get to my room, I half expected to be pretty awful, but to my surprise, it was clean, bright and a breath of fresh air and very comfortable. Can not remember a better... More

I recently stayed at the Aparthotel Northumberland Street with clients from overseas who were particularly impressed by the friendly and efficient service we received during our stay. The staff couldnt do enough for us even helping book restaurants during our stay. The apartments themselves are luxuriously appointed offering a home away from home, highly recommend staying here! I think this hotel has to take credit for the most amazing turnaround. I understand that the ownership has recently changed and it certainly shows in terms of the first-class experience I had on my recent trip to Newcastle. It went beyond impressive and so really hats off to the management team and to all who made my stay so... More

I am absolutely delighted! The ownership changed in Mid April and we have been working on windows, water heating, decor and security among many other things. It is hard work but I am pleased this has been noticed. Thank You! More

I read the reviews and booked this hotel for a business trip. All the descriptions and pictures are hype. The only positive aspect to this hotel is the friendly staff but it is not enough to make up for: 1) The Noise - trucks delivering goods all night long; garbage trucks emptying large industrial bins all night long; cleaning trucks... I assure you that all pictures are accurate and recent. I would be delighted to show our apartments to anyone- please just phone up and we will show you as many rooms as possible! In common with any inner city and central business district there are indeed deliveries- but this is a pedestrianised street therefore a lot quieter than most... More

No DVD in room however provided with Playstation from Reception. Receptionist, Katy, was very friendly on check in, recommended a nice place to eat and also booked table and taxi. booked for the Northumberland Street option for Monday and Tuesday nights as it was a flying visit for daughters graduation. We had previously stayed in Quayside apartments. This was huge - our family were really impressed. Huge living room/kitchen to the front which was noisy but very interesting and quiet bedrooms to rear. Comfortable bed, lovely and warm in some... Fantastic location. Although the website we booked the apartment with had failed to inform the hotel that there were 4 of us, we were swiftly booked into a 2 bedroomed apartment as booked. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. If you are going out in the evening plan where you are going in advance, as it is easy... More

Facilities and locaton great, well appointed and good size room, room starting to look a bit shabby as expected when in use 24/7. Location may be great however as others have said the noise at night is a nightmare. Windows aren't good enough to block out the noise. Between the hours of 1AM until 6AM it is like the end... More

We bought this property in April 2010, several of the sound deadening window seals had indeed failed- many of these have now been replaced and this job should be complete by June. The street is in fact a pedestrian zone (one of very few around the city) although there is the usual city bustle we are in one of the... More
