The hotel has a great location with plenty of places to eat and drink close by which is just as well as the breakfast is not included in the price and is very expensive to purchase on top. They are missing a trick as many people tend to go to the bar across the way. The hotel reception is very... More

Spent three nights here for a treat for my girlfriend. Splurged on a superior room with a view of the winking bridge (521), which obliged several times whilst we were there. Room was lovely: big and spacious with chairs, low table, coffee and tea (though the fair trade filter coffee in a cup is a bit fiddly to make), TV... More

For the price of the room and the so called breakfast which cost extra they could afford a vaccum cleaner and clean the carpets. The hotel looks dated and dark ,the room was nice and a good size even though there was white stains?? on the curtains etc. It could be a really lovely place again, but I won't be returning.

Good points: car park over the road from hotel only £4 for 24 hours on a weekend. Hotel gives you a validated voucher. Friendly efficient reception. Receptionist booked us a taxi for later in the evening. Excellent complimentary toiletries with a note to keep them. In room safe and fridge. Waiter in bar very obliging. Bad points: interior of hotel... More

Have used this hotel before, but not for a while. All definitely use it again for a city stay. Nice medium size room and a nice clean bathroom, some rooms have river views and these are spectacular as the hotel faces the millennium foot bridge on the Tyne. The room I had this time was to the side of the... More

We stayed here for a long weekend & the hotel is great value. It is far more stylish and cool than the price would suggest. A very chic & sophicticated room with lots of lovely touches like the free toiletries, great sound system, and a general feeling of luxury. A great breakfast gave a perfect start to each day. The... My first impression on registering at Reception was how dark and gloomy the Hotel was. This continued as we were shown to our room along darkly lit corridors. The floor announcements in French in the lift seemed eccentric The room we had reserved for three nights was designated superior and had a good sitting area. It had all that we... More

Enjoyed a wonderful evening in this Quayside location with great access to the bars and restaurants along the river and into the "toon". Comfortable bed and excellent late night bar. Breakfast was a full selection of healthy cerals and fruits and a hearty English fry up.
