Jesmond is a nice area, with prosperous looking houses and apparently lots of students but we didn't see many while we were there! A good place to stay if you are visiting the university. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Jesmond metro, which is an easy way into the centre of town, or it is a flat easy... more

Stayed for one night as our village was snowbound and we had to get our son on a coach for a skiing trip at 2am in the morning! From the moment I made the booking the service was excellent - great rate per room and friendly staff. The hotel was spotless, the rooms were comfortable and had Sky TV for... more

We were in Newcastle for the weekend for a football game at St James's Park, our first visit to Newcastle. The result didn't go our way, but Newcastle is a cracking city and we would definitely like to return. The Jesmond is a pleasant small hotel in an attractive area, not far from St James's Park and the city centre.... more

Eaten here 3 times, 2 lunches one dinner. I literally cannot fault anything: briliant cooking, great service. Had Sunday lunch this week. Ham hock with poached egg to start and beautiful roast beef with all the trimmings and super veg FOR A TENNER. Don't go to the pub, come here. Same price, different league. more

This little restaurant, situated in the Jesmond Hotel, is one of the best I have ever eaten at. I have visited many top restaurants, several run by 'celebrity' chefs, in countries all over the world, and this place matches up to them all for meal quality. The food is superb, the decor comfortable and contemporary, the ambience warm and friendly.... more

The Jesmond Hotel is in an upmarket area of Newcastle that has somehow ended up being a prime location for stag and hen nights. Saying that, we didn't hear a peep from either. That wasn't the case with people in adjacent rooms, unfortunately, whose voices were clearly audible through the walls. Our room was small but well presented, with a... more

Osborne Road in Jesmond (where this B&B is located) is the heart of studentsville Newcastle. What was a quiet and kind of artisan place to live is now the place for throngs of over rich students. There's lots of character, but it's a bit full on and noisy into the night. The hotel is fine; it's an older style type... more

Hotel clean and pleasant. We have stayed here before old and new many times but have noticed a change in the place. Cannot put my finger on it but can only put this down to the recent new reception/bar staff. more

This is an excellent small restaurant (seating about 30) suitable for a cosy winter evening or good eating at any time. Food and presentation delightful from small menu but with good range of choice. There is even the option of choosing from the bar menu (hamburgers etc) if nothing suits - although this is unlikely! Lovely reception bar at entrance.... more
