Fantastic setting, very hospitable restaurant with great food and entertainment, professional spa, pleasant hotel - all aspects work quite well together to provide a lovely stay. Only 2 negatives are:- 1. ROOM - that the room was a bit of a let down initially - fairly small and fairly 'normal' for it's 'superior' title. although the VERY comfy bed and... More

I stay away in many hotels for business on a regular basis and decided on this hotel for a relaxing break with use of the spa facilities. I booked very last minute - 8pm the night before travelling and called the reception to discuss options for rooms and spa treatments. They looked into my request and called me back within... More

lovely hotel and helpful staff, however no mobile phone signal on orang or virgin which caused us great distress as travelling with a very sick child and need to be incontact with nurses. also a very disappointed daughter who was looking forward to using the pool but we arrived 5.15 to find children excluded from 5.30 then could not go... Dear Mrs Adele, Thank you for your comments. I can only apologise for the less positive rules you have encountered. We are a Hotel with Spa therefore it is ratter difficult to please every guests needs reason being for the time restrictions on children swimming times, I have also encountered comments on the fact that we allow children reason being... Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights DBB - dinner on the Friday very disappointing, lacked flavour and my wife's meal was served 15 mins after the other 3 meals and even then the risotto wasn't cooked. The whole situation wall handled poorly by the staff on duty and also by the receptionist on checkout. "I'm getting 2 contradicting stories from... More

We were in the area for a social event and stayed for 1 night. We had a small suite which was lovely. It was great to have a seperate sitting room from the bedroom. There were not any views from our room but this didn't really bother us, although the room was quite expensive. A little niggle upon checking in,... More

We've been coming to the Lythe Hill to eat, but to not to stay, for close on 35 years so for this year's wedding anniversary we stayed overnight. In those 35 years we've been disappointed once (which the hotel quickly put right) and have seen many changes in the cuisine from full-on French gastronomy of the old school, through nouvelle... We hired the Garden Room for my partners 50th birthday party afternoon celebration. The venue was brilliant - plenty of room for our 70 guests and a 3 piece jazz band. The staff were attentive and seemed to always be there just when you needed them. The food was amazing - we requested a complete vegetarian buffet and even our... More

Having been before, we knew which room we wanted (and duly asked for it the "Bronte" at the time of booking) 4 weeks in advance. All sorted said the receptionist. However on arrival this was not the case, and we did the traipse around being shown other rooms. These range from the slightly chintzy to the rather dull corporate looking.... More
