The top floor at Dunan House was ideal for our recent trip to Aldeburgh. The extra room was perfect for our (adult) daughter. The views from the room were beautiful. A lovely house with fabulous artwork, charming hosts and friendly pets! The breakfast was wonderful and it was lovely to eat around a large farmhouse table with other guests. Thank... More

We decided on a last minute visit to Aldeburgh and found Dunan House through the Sawday's guide. We were looking at the hotels in the town but prefer to stay in more independent places. It's nice to see the person the money is going to. :) Great room for us as a family on the top floor with own bathroom... More

Dunan House is one of it's kind, a real delight to stay in, with a very interesting collection of art all over the house. Comfortable beds and en suite and also a perfect breakfast served unobtrusively by the artists themselves. A convenient place to stay within walking distance of the high street's shops, beach, golf club plus the marshes for... More

Simon does look like Bill Nighy, so being served at breakfast by him does feel inappropriate. A friendly couple who keep an attractive home which is comfortable, interestingly decorated and quiet. There are rumoured to be chickens. There is also a dog. The location is far enough from town to be quiet (the approach is a little spooky at night,... More

Thank you Mags and Greg. I thought I looked more like George Clooney...maybe I should remove the spectacles. The chicken rumour is absolutely true. S More

This is a lovely bed & breakfast on a quiet back road in Aldeburgh. When we arrived we had a 'wow' moment seeing the large house & beautiful gardens with views across the Aldeburgh Marshes. Simon & Ann are good hosts. As previously mentioned they are attentive but not intrusive. The house is decorated with quirky artefacts and from around... More

This lovely house is placed behind the town in a quiet road, and yet within easy walking distance to everything in the town. Our spacious room was bright and comfortable overlooking a generous garden. Breakfast was excellent and we were well looked after by our hosts. More

As others have said this is a lovely house with great beds. It maybe that high occupancy rates are having the effect of making this b&b feel more of a business than a home. On arrival having given our Christian names we were then asked for our full names for checking which made us feel unwelcome - they only have... More

Dear NorthWalesFellwalker. Great apologies for your less than warm reception. We are working on this and trying harder. So glad you noticed my attempt at map drawing. As for toast and butter next time please do an Oliver Twist - the supply is unlimited. S More

We stayed 3 nights in this gorgeous B&B during May/June. The house is glorious, high ceilings and amazing art. The owners were very gracious and welcoming without being at all intrusive - we had keys to come and go. Breakfast to die for! Thick bacon, homemade bread/jam and eggs from the hens in the garden. We stayed on the top... More

Ann and Simon were great and helpful but nicely discreet. Top floor accommodation large and excellent with good sitting area and views but may be difficult with large suitcases.Perhaps the sink area in bathroom might have been cleaned daily and need to make sure dirty towels left on the floor. Top class breakfasts - cooked to order. Very convenient for... More

Beautiful house in a superb location, less than 10 minutes' walking distance from the city centre. The hosts' genuine good taste adds to the charming character of the house. Perfect for a couple with little children (attic room). Hosts very friendly in a sincere, relaxed way. Very child-friendly. Nothing to add to the rave breakfast reviews :-) More
