just back from a trip to weathervane, booked it specifically for the purpose of it been close to alton towers as i was told by the hotel it was in walking distance!!(which ended up been a 25min taxi drive!!). room was ok could have been cleaner,the food in the hungry horse was not much to talk about thankfully mc donalds... more

Stayed at the Weather Vane in October 2008 on the ground floor and was part of a large group and we complained about the state of the windows due to the mould on many of the windows and the net curtains. The people on here that write that this place is horrible must be very tight because the price that you get a room here is brilliant! They are clean, quiet and have everything you need. Well... on arrival, you wasn't welcomed by anyone, just a phone that you had to ring to get a person to reception, eventually someone turned up and was very rude. The room, where do i start... We have been to weathervane afew times and each time left happy customers. We got more then expected considering how much we paid. We paid 30 pounds for a fairly spacious, clean and quiet double en-suite room. The power shower was brill. There is also wireless internet access.
