Having read the October review after booking, we were very worried, but the hotel was easy to find, had both off and on street parking which was always available, the food was plentiful and good, the room (5) had panoramic views of Bath and the staff were very helpful - except one, who quite obviously didn't want to be staff,... more

This guest house is tired and shabby, I see that one review complained of soft beds but ours was so hard that the second night we slept on top of the duvet in an attempt to make it a little more comfortable! The carpets in the public ares are dirty, our bedroom was small but passable, unlike the bathroom which... more

This B&B is absolutely fine & I would recommend to friends. Only 3 gripes; 1) there were no towels available to take to the spa which I know other B&B's will offer (there is a charge at the spa for towels); 2) it's just a smidge too far out of town and you really do need taxi's to get back... more

The B&B was clean and quite near the town centre.(10 min. walk) However the service was quite poor considering I had read up on good previous reviews. The full English breakfast was satisfactory. Bath itself was a lovely place to visit and would definitely recommend it. Personally I would not stay here again. more

We spent a night here hoping for a relaxing break before Christmas. We deliberately chose a B&B graded by Visit Britain, hoping it would assure us of a certain standard of accommodation. Unfortunately we didn't find this at Astor House. The room, although large, was crowded with 3 beds, the television was very high above an old, tatty wardrobe, the... more

On arrival we were a little surprised to find a note pinned to the front door with instructions on how to let ourselves in, we only saw the owners on our leaving which suited us. The place itself is very beautiful, the building is splendid and the gardens wonderful. The area is very peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was very... more

This was a good hotel, however it is a fair way from the centre of Bath so it is really made for people who have a car since its a good walk up and down a hill for 10mins from the rail & bus. My room was nice, small point that the blinds didn't close and that the kettle looked... more

We (family of 4 with teenagers) stayed here for one night. The room was spacious enough but the ensuite was showing its age. We found it to be comfy and pleasant with a good breakfast. It is quite a walk to Bath we preferred to walk than take the car and pay the high price for parking. more

From the moment I rang the Astor House I felt welcomed and we were provided with early check-in arrangement. The house has a warm and homely atmosphere and we felt relaxed when moving around the communal areas. The proprietor was polite and friendly and the room we stayed in (Room 2) was very clean and presentable. We would not hesitate... more
