My husband and I stayed here in October 2012. We loved the rooms, they were nice and spacious and clean. Overall, it is close to Bath and very good value for money. I'd be happy to stay here again. The breakfast was good too.

We booked this place in November 2012 as a base for a weekend in Bath. On arrival I was met at the bar by a helpful and pleasant member of staff. She showed me to our room. The room smelt of cooked meat. There was no heating on in the corridor and no obvious signs of heating in the room.... More

picturesque building! we arrived early evening to a warm welcome and an offer to reserve the table by the fire. the meal was fantastic, much more than we anticipated and a great way to spend our 8th anniversary. the atmosphere with christmas songs playing, decorations displayed and a warm fire topped the whole night off. the room was as expected... Ideally situated, just next to Park and Ride for Bath. Very peaceful and homely. Was a great stay with our 3 year old - large room and very comfortable. Fantastic cooked breakfast and very accommodating towards the little one. Would definitely recommend.

When we pulled up to the Blathwayt, it was a very foggy night, and the lights on the beautiful building gave us a warm welcome. The restaurant downstairs is very cozy, and the food was EXCELLENT! Our party got fish & chips, pork cooked three ways, game stew, and sea bass, and we loved all of it! Breakfast was also... More

Myself and friends dropped into the Blathwayt for a (non alcoholic!) drink after I came out of hospital. The girl serving at the bar was kind enough to go out of her way to jazz up my order of a hot chocolate with a piece of cake and a Freddo as they had no marshmallows! - Much appreciated! The drinks... More

This was an excellent place to stay! The food was superb and the staff were friendly. The beds were comfortable and we met other travellers, who also thought this an excellent place to stay. We are Australian, there were two Americans and an English woman and we all felt the same. Thank you to the people of the Blathwayt for... More

The Blathwayt is a decent enough pub serving what appears to be decent enough food (we were booked to eat out as it happened). The B&B is clearly a sideline, and the attitude of the management and staff confirms this. On check-in, in the bar, before I even got my key, I was asked (by the barmaid) what time we... More

we found the dining area empty and cold, that included the staff, the manageress was indifferent and not very welcoming, some other diners were complaining while we were there which did put us off.the staff just seem to care. The sunday lunch is awful, tough meat that tastes days old, greasy potatos dried out veg, the dessert was ok but... More

Before i start writing this, i have to state that I wonder whether previous poor reviews were based on another hotel. My wife and I stayed at the Blathwayt for two nights and at the end of our stay we are struggling to come up with any negatives at all. The staff are warm and friendly, the room we were... More
