We stayed two nights at the manor house for a wedding. The building was old and beautiful, as were the grounds. Staff were friendly and attentive. I had the misfortune to stay at the Manor House while working near Reading. I stayed here a number of times and each time was worse than the one before. The rooms are old and shabby and if you get put in the "!Courtyard" section you are likely to be put above the sauna which runs between 6am and 10pm... more

Build originally in 870, and then re-built after a fire in 1636 - this place is full of history. The staircase and balcony top have wooden carved statues that should be in a museum - beautiful.
