The Richmond Hotel was excellent for the cost and convenience. We were very pleased with the hotel. We stayed six nights while visiting with relatives in Oxford. The hotel is convenient for transportation, shopping, and visiting colleges and churches, etc. While an English breakfast was available we especially enjoyed the Lebanese breakfast. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Everyone should... More

The Richmond Hotel is one of a kind. If you are looking for a standard-issue hotel, this is not the place. The hotel is up a side-staircase next to the restaurant, and the staff are hidden in the control room (you can always knock). On arriving, you go into the restaurant and ask where the hotel is. Someone will then... More

If you expect traditional English B&B - you'll be very disapointed. Absense of hospitality, strange handling of customer's requests to see the room before paying upfront money for staying. Very dark rooms, awful food - never will be back there again and will tell my friends to avoid this establishment. Negative memory.

I am studying part time at Oxford and need somewhere to stay overnight. They prefer to let their rooms on a week basis and you have to book late (2 nights before) if you want a shorter stay. The rooms are fine, (bring your own soaps as they are not provided as with most hotels) the manager is the nicest... More

A great launching point for exploration of Oxford and environs. 5-minute walk from Gloucester Green bus station and main streets, but in a quiet neighborhood. Please consult recent reviews, which are accurate and we will not repeat. This is not a five-star hotel, but it neither tries to be one nor has rates like one. It does not come up... More

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas night at the Richmond while we were visiting family in Oxford, and it was just the ticket. We had a courteous welcome and our rooms were warm and comfortable and clean, with interesting decor and stunning inlaid wardrobes. The breakfast is simple - cereal, toast, a choice of eggs (boiled, omelette, poached etc) or... More

An excellent value for money hotel. Its in a superb location close to everything in the city centre. Its clean and the staff are amazingly friendly. It has everything you want from a hotel including being quiet. A tip, the Lebanise restaurant downstairs is very good but full allot of the time so book in advance if you want to... More

We stayed here on a Saturday, and it was last minute reservation. We were welcomed warmly by the owner, David, who was very helpful and provided useful information. Room was lovely, smallish and basic but clean and with character. We liked brick walls, crispy clean bedding and the fact that the room was equipped with tea& coffee facilities, broadband, etc.... I am an alum of the University and was going back to visit some friends when I discovered the Richmond. While a student I had lived in Jericho, so I was glad to be back in my old neighborhood, right near my old haunts. Jericho has its own little strip of stores, restaurants, cafes, etc. away from the downtown and... More
