Stayed here for one night between Christmas and New year. The hotel is very close to the city centre ( 15 min walk), but there are a bus route as well. , of yu dont want to walk. Its a pretty hotel, and a popular one. Lots of parties and conferences held here and its always buzzing with people. Its a big hotel and so thats not a bad thing. The rooma and bathrooms are big and comfortable. They are designed in old fashion, but thats the charm of the city and comes through in the hotel too.... more

This Hotel has clearly shown more life in the past... and has the potential to be great again - hence the title of my review. Much about the Spires is dated and tired. Stayed 4 nights after getting a good deal for a Connoisseur room, breakfast included, with Expedia.
