We stayed here for one night as we had a relative in hospital . Dial house has clearly been a grand property in the past but it is very tired and run down , the toilet didn't flush and the water pump was noisy throughout the night , we highlighted this on checking out and it wasn't taken very seriously,cash... My sister-in-law and I stayed in the twin room on the third floor for seven nights. It is a modest, comfortable, affordable, clean venue. Booking was online and went without a hitch. Our room was fine, the ensuite was small but manageable. Our only criticism was the hand held shower head apparatus.....there was no hook to make it an overhead... More

the room we stayed in was very modern, with a new shower room. the room did remind me of a barge though as it was a long narrow room. the staff were friendly. and the breakfast was ok, more on the warm side rather than hot. but there was plenty of selection. the access into the city was poor there... I needed accommodation for a last minute stopover to Oxford. I required one room for myself and 2 children( 14/9), in a central location, with car parking. Not too pricey!! Dial house fitted the bill. Our booking was all done via the Internet and everything was in order when we arrived. The front entrance and hallway wasn't very smart, and... More

Helpful hosts and staff. All willing to help. Were very helpful with friend in a wheelchair. Nice selecion for breakfast. The suburb of Headington has wonderful restaurants and shops which are nice and handy when you stay here. More

When phoning the day before arrival to check arrangements, I was told there had been a misunderstanding and we were only booked for one night not two. Arrangements were then made with a friend of the landlady who ran another guest house further out of town. This proved disastrous and spoiled our stay altogether. The large room we were given... We stayed quite a few times at Dial house, enjoying clean rooms, nice breakfast, and friendly staff - and not least, the nice garden which we loved to sit in evenings - not a formal or very flowery garden, but peaceful, and lots of wonderful trees!! Then someone had apparently decided that they needed a cafe, and the next time... More

The English breakfast was the normal that we had received during our trip. The staff was very nice the room was clean and comfortable. Parking can be a little tight. Bus stop right outside the driveway. Small pubs just up the street as well as a starbucks if that’s your thing. Oxford is a wonderful town really enjoyed the area... More

We stayed for 2 nights in the room which had the king sized bed. The room is at the back of the house and I couldn't hear any traffic noise which was a real bonus. The house is conveniently located on the main road into Oxford. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly both on checking in and out (she... More

If you have moderate expectations you will be quite happy. With most Olde Worldie places there are excentricities that you work around. We had to laugh when one of the hand towels was a ripped in half towel. But from there it was mostly uphill. We had asked for a room at the back and that is what we got... More
