The RED LION has been in business for 500 years or so, until 100 years ago as a coaching inn. There is a Tudor wing with exposed original oak beams. In Room 108, Charles 1's royal seal (1632) was discovered during restoration in the 19C and has been carefully preserved. There is much history here but much modern hospitality too.... More

But needs a spruce up and a little more attention to detail to justify price. Nice comfortable room overlooking River, but central heating in room was not working (oil filled radiator and fan heater instead) and breakfast was average. Would recommend for short stay. More
