We booked the day before, and what a find ! We parked right outside, and on checking in had a friendly welcome from the Landlord, and our room was in the front with lots of lovely finishing touches. A decanter of sherry to help yourselves to, was a nice touch.Nice comfy bed and the tea making facilities were very nice............ More

No parking facilities, so had to trail luggage from the public car park at the bottom of Burford Hill. Room was depressing. Carpet in Bathroom and shower curtains! Area to side of toilet was not clean and tops of tiled area looked dirty. Fabric headboard had what appeared to be grease stains where people had been leaning against it. Tried... More

my girlfriend and i just got back to enfield after a few nights here..a really comfortable bed provided a good nights sleep after trekking around the local area..a powerful shower woke us up refreshed even after copious amounts of the great selection of whiskey behind the bar.the staff were friendly and very hospitable towards us.breakfast on the first two mornings... Stayed here for one night on our way South. We had the Burford room, comfortable , well furnished with an immaculate ensuite bathroom, great view of the street & quiet in spite of the tremendous amount of traffic that passes through the village. Tea & coffee facilities in the room & surprisingly sherry for a pre meal aperitif.Nice touch. Breakfast was... More

I can't comment on the accommodation, but this used to be quite a nice place to go for a drink in the evening. Unfortunately, on the evidence of a recent experience it seems to have become a 'local pub for local people'. If you want a drink and you're not a regular, I wouldn't hold your breath. If you do... I came here with my girlfriend as part of a weekend away from London having both had a busy couple of months. We were looking for somewhere personal (i.e. not Hilton) but not overly so (i.e. not B&B). The Highway Inn was spot on in every way. It's right in the centre of Burford, which is a beautiful little village.... More

Just stopped in for a coffee and it was hard to get a rise out of the blondie behind the bar. She needs a break or a better owner as she looks/tone of voice 'worked off her feet', so perhaps she was a bubbly bonny lass once but the owners didnt give her the help she needed so is now... More

Great location and generally a decent hotel. However very badly let down by one of the rudest and most unpleasant managers/owner I have met. She appears to have delusions of working in a five star hotel but lacks basic manners never mind good customer care. Never again! Stayed in the Lamb Inn Burford, the following night and they were a... More

You and three friends back from Cheltenham Gold Cup, couldn’t walk straight, came to check in however only yourself very rude / abusive about your bag not being put in your room and being kept with the other guest bags?, you were given the option to stay or go as the staff and me are not here to be shouted... Lovely meal by candlelight. It felt very cosy and relaxed. we got the last table -always a good sign if a place is fully booked. staff were very friendly, and music was good too. We tried the lamb and the steak which were delicious and good portions so we had to share a dessert - also delicious.

This was the third hotel that we had booked for this weekend through Booking.com . The first had overbooked so had no rooms for us, the second didn't have the rooms that we had asked for and it really was a case of third time lucky, we were so pleased that this is the place where we ended up. We... More
