We wanted a get-away couple of days in rural Peak District with great walking and this place was ideal. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and the decor and surroundings were first class. Breakfasts were full and fresh even if the AGA did take half the morning to heat up. We had the king room at... More

The hotel staff were so friendly, we were made to feel as though we were staying in a family home. The breakfast was marvellous with plenty of choice and all freshly prepared. A very nice touch was a full sized guest fridge situated outside of the bedroom area. We were invited to light the prepared open fire, which we did... More

This hotel was recommended by friends who had stayed and it didn't disappoint. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious, and it was the quietest nights sleep i've had in years. The rooms were beautiful, full of character and very clean. We fell in love with the place's charm and would definitely go back, especially as it... More

Very well run hotel, characterful, spacious, clean and pleasant, friendly staff; fantastic breakfasts, beautiful wholesome simple dinner on request on the second night. Unfortunately the pub we were referred to for dinner on the first night was just bizarre - couldn't recommend that other than for its comedy value - but I appreciate there isn't anywhere else for the owners... The Peak District is a lovely place and this B&B is situated amongst the gorgeous country-side. Our room (the striped room) was large and had a very nice bathroom. Some of the decor could be updated but it was very nice - biscuits, fruit, tea and coffee were all supplied in our room each day. We had great breakfasts there... More

Spent last night at Stanshope Hall and had a wonderful time. Myself, my partner and a few other friends rented the 3 available rooms and enjoyed every minute. Our room was the smaller of the 3 (the twin) but still very quaint with a separate toilet and separate bathroom all with a garden view which was quite serene. This morning... More
