We stayed here April 2011 for 2 nights in the family room. We all slept wonderfully in a clean room with comfortable beds, not too soft and not too hard. The owners were nothing but wondeful. The place was very quiet when we were there but it may get a noisy during weekdays while filled with working people. Hexham is... More

We recently spent six nights at Hallbank and were delighted to have found it. It is right in the heart of Hexham, backing up to the Old Gaol and just a short walk to the Abbey church and shopping. The AD122 bus for Hadrian's Wall as well as buses to other towns stops within a two-minute walk. Our room fit... More

When we finally found the Hallbank (the GPS could not without a street address) we were told that there would be a wedding (with a band) going on that night. It was quite loud and the entire property was full with wedding guests except for us. The next morning, I was quite surprised when the owner never inquired (or apologized)... More

We stopped here for two nights as it was very local to a family wedding we were attending in Hexham. We were given the choice of which two rooms we wanted, and chose the two on the top floor. Beatifully clean and each room tastfully decorated with real quality furnishings. Everything you could want in the room. Breakfast was served... More

We stayed one night in July 2010 in Hallbank Guest House. We had a beautifully furbished room (Ryan) . It was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice. Well cooked and presented. Staff was a bit reserved, but not rude at all. It would have been great to get more info: for instance how the minibar worked. Strange was... More

We spent 2 nights here while walking Hadrian's wall, the service we received was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast, a great range of hot and cold options (I had all of them). The bebroom was large with an en-suite shower, fresh towels and molton brown toiletries. The B&B is in a handy location for public transport (both trains and... More

My girlfriend and I were attending a wedding in Hexham and booked to stay at Hallbank Guest House on the Friday and Saturday night. We had a tiring drive up from London on the Friday and conscious of some of the negative comments on Tripadvisor were keen to keep the owner (who doesn't live on site) well informed of our... More

My kids booked this for our 30th Wedding anniversary, its right in the heart of Hexham, a little hard to find but a fantastic B&B. The rooms are all named after Margaret's (owner) grand children and are of a very high standard. The bed was so comfy and the white sheets and soft pillows made me feel like home, in... More

Decided to make an impromptu visit to look at rooms with a view to booking. The Guest House is in an ideal location, and I was greated by very friendly owner who immediately showed me around all of the rooms. The rooms were beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and I could highly recommend staying here. I can't believe that anyone would... More

I see there's been some negative reviews for this place, but I must say I've had a fantastic stay here. Nice room, tasty breakfast, good location, nothing wrong here. The place has lots of character too. More
