Went with friends for a Sunday lunch which was very poor to say the least. Desserts were over microwaved so very hard . Staff didn't seem to care, when asked to speak to manager told he had gone home ; not really what we expected from such an establishment . More

Facilities and location good but  service poor and food was average "pub grub" , not what we expected for the price.  It took a letter and three phone calls before the Manager would discuss our experience.  Very negative reaction.  Head Chef/Duty Manager rude and patronising. More

Warm and personal welcome. Big fire on a cold day - snow and ice. Room - dated and needing an update. Views from the room were incredible across the Northamptonshire countryside. The warm friendly greeting on arrival really set the mood for our fabulous stay . We stayed here for 3 nights when our daughter was getting married and having the reception for 130 here. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant meals were very good as were the breakfasts. The rooms are all different. this is not a novotel or travelodge with cloned rooms. It is like staying at your posh... More

Why pay more for mediocre service? Both times we ate in the hotel restaurant ,my husband and I were underwhelmed. The staff were unobservant (intrusive when not wanted, and not to be found when desired). The "French" chef has obviously departed as the vegetables with our lunch were cooked with Flora, not butter!
