stayed in room 1, large clean room with big screen tv with lots of channels, large bathroom, nice brekky with very tasty sausages (order 2 sausages instead of bacon), very good value and great location.Now the bad bits, these are not complaints just observations and did not spoil our stay, it is a shame but just lacking the final touches... We did not stay at the Gillygate Inn but stumbled upon it looking for supper. We had supper and stayed almost to closing time, it has to be the friendliest pub in York! We had a great time, superb meal (crab cakes and Yorkshire pudding), excellent service, great entertainment (karaoke), fabulous drinks, nice dancing, and a pub full of "regulars".... More
