First time I stayed in a Travelodge and was not expecting very much but the hotel was fine, receptionist friendly. The reason we chose Travelodge is that they accept dogs where many other hotels do not. The only thing I did not like is that I was told over the phone that the dog would cost £10 but on arrival... Can recommend this Traveloge, it is a bit "sad" outside but the rooms are very spacious and were really clean - even Four in a Bed would have been hard pushed to find fault!!! The receptionist was brilliant, really helpful and very hard working. It got a bit noisy when people were returning from their evenings entertainment but that is... More

We stayed here for one night, and while I recognise that the Travelodge chain is a budget hotel chain, there is still something to be said for an acceptable standard. The room was large, could have easily had a second bed in it, but instead, there was a large empty space in the room. The mattress was quite dated -... More

Shower pressure not strong enough to wash shampoo from hair. Mouldy bathrooms. Breakfast was stodgy cakes, cardboard cereal and fake milk which was all in a pre-packaged box left at the door each morning - and only one between the two of us. Also we had to share 1 towel because the computer said there was only one person in... More

The pub next door, the Black Bull was brilliant and very friendly. We all loved the place. My room in the hotel was large and warm. .... I think I have now run out of positives to say about this facility. Fifteen of us stayed here in April over 4 nights. All of us complained about it being completely awful.... More

We booked this travel lodge for a one night stay as hotels in the centre of York were booked up or extortionate . After booking we read some shocking reviews about this travel lodge and thought we had made a Huge mistake . However on arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist and having been allocated our rooms we... More

I stayed here with a bunch of friends from Australia for the ANZAC Day Memorial service in Driffield followed by a visit to Elvington Air Musuem. I've stayed in hotels all over England and around the world and this has got to be bottom of my list. I changed rooms, complaining the shower didn't even get me wet, let alone... More

Organisation & management-nil. Staff competence & training-nil. Staff Customer relations & skills-nil. The room was far from clean & the shower wall grout covered in mould. Further, our group was booked into 5 rooms all under one name. How in an emergency would travelodge even know who is staying there? Because we as a couple had been placed in a... More

Room was clean and tidy but that's as good as it got! Toliet didn't flush and the shower had no power whatsoever. Outside, windows had paint peeling off and small trees growing in the gutter - very dated and in need of renovating. We booked a family room and on arrival we were told the room was a double for...
