My friend and I spent three lovely days in York, and stayed at the Crook Lodge. It is a charming guest house and Brian Aiken is an extremely accomodating host. The breakfast is delicious, and everything about the guest house is just perfect.

Everything about Crook Lodge is excellent....from the minute we arrived until we left we were made to feel really welcome. The breakfast is the best we had ever had. We had previously lived in York for a number of years so knew the area and we wanted somewhere we could leave the car and not have to use it again...

Lovely house in a superb location for walking to York (5 mins) and the station (5 mins). Also handy having the car park. Brian is very welcoming and helpful and his breakfasts are the best we've experienced.
We were in the kingsize bed in room 4 - lovely and comfortable although rather a small room and bathroom. Unlike a previous...

Brian the host most welcoming and accommodating. Car parking not large but, what the heck, you cannot have everything! Well located for the town with a pleasant stroll thro' nice gardens to centre of York (10 mins). Room good, bathroom small but adequate (and how long do you stay in a bathroom?). Breakfast excellent. Brian is a wealth of knowledge on...

Crook lodge is conveniently located for the town centre and takes less than 5 minutes to walk there by walking through a nearby beautiful park. The car park is more like a driveway which can fit 2 cars wide and so when you park in the drive, you do get blocked in by other cars. You are requested to leave...

Owner lent us a fan, but didn't help much. Car parking very odd and had to keep car keys in room so staff can move the car when necessary....

They went the extra...

Crook Lodge is wonderful. The owner, Brian, is exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfast ins wonderful - both cooked and cold items. Eggs are delivered from a local farm, sausage is made at the local butcher. Top quality all the way! The room was small and cozy, the shower was larger than the norm for old homes in England,...

Stayed here for 3 nights, 24th May. Crook Lodge has come on heaps and bounds since myself and my partners very first review on July 2010, and as a result this is why I find myself writing another review.
As usual the cleanliness of Crook Lodge was immaculate and Brian the owner offers exceptional knowledge of the local area as...
