We have been lucky enough to stay in some fabulous places and after staying in Room 3 it is definitely up there at the top. It is spacious, extremely clean and amazing. It is beautifully decorated and has this amazing feeling of warmth. Every piece of furniture is beautiful and the cupboards are stocked with everything you could need. The... More

We stayed in Room 6 (twin/double) and it lived up to expectations. As per the other reviews, complimentary champagne, whisky, gin, soft drinks, mixers, delicious artisan bread and a very good breakfast for us to cook. Easily walkable to town centre and Castle Museum and river. Added bonus - as well as the restaurant, Loch Fyne fish restaurant is just... More

I was looking to surprise my husband with a trip to York on his 40th birthday. he had dined at The Blue Bicycle on a works trip & was so complimentary about the food that I wanted to experience it with him. when I enquired about booking the restaurant I stumbled across The Blue Rooms accommodation. Although a bit more... More

This hotel is really different to anywhere else I have stayed, I stayed here with my husband on the last night of our honeymoon. There were complimentary drinks on arrival plus a bottle of bubbly and a fruit bowl which was a nice welcome after a long trip. We stayed in room 5 which was on the ground floor with... More

We stayed here mid week for just one night. The day before we arrived I phoned blue bicycle rooms and asked if the car park space I reserved would be available before the 2pm check in time. I was told no so we arrived in the morning and paid for a local car park which was very expensive. We eventually... More

My family had a fabulous meal followed by a heavenly night in The Blue Rooms. The meal was superb and the accommodation could not be faulted. It was spotlessly clean and decorated to the highest spec. Fabulously stocked kitchen with everything we needed (including a basket of fruit and bottle of champagne on ice). Would highly recommend to anybody and... More

Fabulous, spacious, well appointed, clean. Four of us in room 5 and room6. Room 5 gets the river and the ducks! In all hotels they say they are welcoming, this place really is. Free champers, spirits, mixers, fruit, bread, tea, real coffee, cook your own breakfast, brilliant! No need to go out if you don't want to. Our second visit, definitely the place to stay in York if you can get in.

My boyfriend and I stayed here Fri 22 November for our anniversary. I wasn't too sure what I thought of a self catering appartment to start with, but it exceeded all my expectations. The apartment was excellent. Nice sitting area, flat screen tv if you wanted one. Lovely four poster bed, nice small dining area overlooking the river and a... More

Amazing! We booked the two larger apartments for 8 girls to have a night away! We stayed in and cook our own Indian and then went out into York. Fab location, as we could walk easily to the bars and restaurants...amazing interior and all the added extras just made it! Worth every penny!

Having stayed at the blue rooms as a couple we knew that it was the perfect place to stay this half term with our 8yr old. Central to the busy streets and restaurants. Close to museums, cinema and of course the fabulous minster. The blue rooms offers a home from home giving the choice of eating in after a long... More
