On arrival, the outside entrance appeared spoilt by a large number of cigarette ends. The staffs at ‘check-in’ were helpful, but any pleasantries stopped there. Stayed for one night. Fine re location as long as you have a car. Bedroom re-furbished and comfortable, no outlook but very quiet. Breakfast OK. Service good on reception and in restaurant. Bathroom needed attention - very worn. more

The hotel is too far out of town for business travellers, from the train station approx 10 miles, so not very central. Food & service good although you are limited to eat at the hotel due to it's location. Wouldn't stay again on business & near a noisy road too. more

From the moment we arrived in the car park, the hotel did not let us down. Clean spacious rooms, excellent restaurant both at night and for breakfast. very pleasant staff throughout the stay, impressive bar and entrance areas and very handy for York attractions including Park & Ride only 1 mile away. We chose this hotel for a country retreat based on a number of features promised by the hotels own website, eg, the inviting grand fire in the lounge and being able to hire outdoor wear to explore the surrounding countryside.
