We returned again to HI York for a two night stay following a trip further south. Pleased to say we weren't disappointed! We had a quiet executive room, a large comfortable bed, plenty of tea and coffee facilities, fridge with complimentary water, clean bathroom...everything we needed. As usual, staff were friendly, polite and attentive. I have already mentioned in another... More

Arrived by taxi from the station (about 10 minutes and £7 or £8) and was quickly checked-in. I was upgraded to an executive room, which was reasonably sized and was at the back of the hotel so was quiet. Breakfast was entirely in line with the usual Holiday Inn offering. It took about 30 minutes to walk back to the... More

Exec rooms have been refurbished but within the 4 walls that were there. The amount of space in each room is quite limited and the bathroom could not be any smaller! Wide choice of breakfast - full English and continental and the quality of the food was very good. It is self service apart from tea/coffee which comes in a... More

We stayed here for our Anniversary at the end of January. We had requested a quiet room on a high floor and that's what we got. it was warm clean and comfortable and the staff had put a nice card and a jar of sweets in there for us. We had a lovely stay and would highly recomment it. More

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions for short breaks and I cannot recommend it enough, o.k. the rooms are basic but very comfortable and the staff couldn't be more pleasant. The car park is free, unusual for York, the city itself being either a walk away or a short bus journey, the buses are... More

This hotel met our expectations. It is a 3 star property and I think 3 stars is correct. The room had everything promised in the 'blurbs' and was very clean and comfortable. It had opening windows and was very quiet. Check in was pleasant and efficient. We stayed for 2 days on our way to a wedding in Lincoln. We... More

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback further to your recent stay. I am glad that overall you found the hotel clean and comfortable, however I was disappointed to see that our breakfast was not up to our normal standards. I totally agree that the items should be replenished in smaller amounts when it is quieter, however just... More

My wife and I stayed on the 21st January for one night. Our stay was ok but not value for money. The room was clean but our main problem was the restaurant. We went for dinner and the restaurant was cold, so not very comfortable for dining, We ordered our meal, sea bass and chunky chips and we had to... More
