The Hotel was clean and pleasant. Breakfast great. Location not great, a long walk into York centre, river was flooded so couldn't experience the riverside stroll. The cosy bar and open fire was one of the main reasons we chose the Limes Hotel, however on our second night (Sunday) we got back early evening from being out all day in... more

Stayed for 2 nights, The family make you so welcome and they cannot do enough for you. Rooms were very very clean and very warm. 15 minute walk into city centre although bus stop just over the road. Breakfast was fantastic. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Will be going back more

We have literally just returned from a two night stay at the limes and it was just perfect, fiona and all the family were so pleasant and helpful and happy, we were completely amazed at how spotlessly clean the rooms and en-suites were and this means an awful lot when staying away from home. My husband and teenage son stayed at The Limes for two nights during this October half-term and we had a wonderful stay. Stayed for a race weekend in July. There were a large group of us but the family there were lovely and very accommodating. Would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to stay there, perfect location. more

How great is it to be greeted on arrival and throughout your stay by a friendly smile - Fiona and her husband Ricardo have customer service sewn up and many should take a leaf from their book. Quite simply superb , we arrived for a 3 night stay with friends for the races and all i can say is what a lovely family they are , you are made to feel so welcome and nothing is a problem. Honestly i give them 100% for everything . If you need a B&B in York then look no further... more

Went to York for a weekend with friends. Very pleased with the hotel. It is a lovely walk from town. The rooms are lovely and the restaurant is delightful, breakfast was top notch we had cereal, fruits then a fry up. Nothing was too much trouble with the staff and they were most welcoming.
