This hostel is a meagre five minute walk from the train station, and has ambience to boot. It's got an antique feel with a good spacious layout. Minutes from the city center, nice lounge area, ensuite restroom. Very clean and nice!

I have just come back from a Hen do and we stayed here for the night in the 8 people per room. We thought is was okay, yes we did have to make our own beds and they werent the steardiest but they were really comfy and so were the pillows.
We never heard any noise but it does seem...

Got to admit I was dubious about staying here as I've always stayed in hotels in York but as they wouldn't offer a 1nt stay this was the next best option for us. So pleased we did. Rooms were big and clean. We had a private dorm for 8 with en-suite, bathroom was small but only the same as the...

I stayed here with my wife and 2 kids (ages 5, and 12) for the final weekend of the Jorvik Viking Festival. I chose to stay in a hostel as I've enjoyed doing so in the past at some excellent ones (eg the Avalon in Dublin).
First off, the good points are: free breakfast (eat as much as you like)...

Arranged to go to York last minute and was looking for somewhere central and not too expensive. Ace seemed to fit the bill. The hostel is located in a beautiful Georgian looking building which had a lot of character. It was in walking distance of the railway station, the centre and the various attractions in York. The hostel itself had...
