We stayed at this " hotel" in mid September 2011. The room was a disgrace, unmade bed which the " chef" remade for us, dirty glasses, nothing worked, a most uncomfortable time. when we complained the " Barman" came up and replaced the unworkable items.Would not recommend this place to anyone. Unfortunately, the Inn has no endearing features. The decor is very dated, half the lights in the place weren't on; the bathroom in my room hadn't been cleaned properly...the toilet had not been cleaned at all! Lovely clean rooms, great food, lovely atmosphere. The locals drink here and apart from the Mallyan (a bit of a walk up the road) this is our favourite place in Goathland, great too if you want good honest food, drink and not have Heartbeat pushed at you! More
