Others have mentioned the welcome, the confortable room, the good location, the safe, convenient parking - I second all of that! I would also like to commend Mary's cooking to you. Breakfast in the very pleasant dining room is a treat for lovers of home-grown and home-cooked food. The rhubarb, strawberry and redcurrant (all grown in the garden at Whitefriars)... More

A very nice b&b. Well situated and plenty of car parking within the grounds. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Very good value for money. The only thing I didn't like was not having a front door key.

We stayed here during a vintage car rally, following the Pennine way from Derbyshire to Scotland, so only for one night. The location was perfect as we could leave our car in the carpark hidden behind the house, so no temptation for Saturday night revellers. Just around the corner was a reasonable choice of restaurants. Our twin room on the... More

We stayed at this B&B for a walking weekend and found that the people were extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was really nice, and it the room rate was reasonable. The hotel is set in gardens and has character due to its age. Inside, it's very much country arts and crafts decoration style with lots of dried flowers and... More

It was so good last year we cycled this way again to come back. The old ladies are lovely. Susan (daughter / niece) is very helpful. 'Susan will be the one to ask about a screw,' said one of the old ladies 'she's younger than us.' We asked Susan. A selection of screws was duly found for us to repair... More

We stayed for one night whilst cycling the Way of the Roses and it made for a perfect stopover. The B&B is right in the middle of Settle which means you don't have to walk far for food and there is a large, locked garage for bikes. It is quite a large B&B but not impersonal as there are very... In town centre, 5 minutes away from the railways station and very well situated to walk in the Yorkshire Dales. Quiet and clean. Original breakfast with homemade muesli and homemade jam. Breakfast is served with plenty of smiles. Very kind ladies, very welcoming. Lovely garden in the back. Now the problems: the only single room is not ensuite and also... More

A very nicely run traditional B&B. Very welcoming and comfortable and the house has a long history. Very convenient location in Settle village and an easy walk from the train station. Good breakfast.

Very good standard, bathroom was well appointed and modern, loads of hot water. Bedroom of good standard plenty of space. Right on the doorstep for the center of Settle. Landlady very helpful and breakfast was first rate. Only criticism was the failure to answer E Mails, had to resort to phoning .. worth persevering as such a good quality property.

We spent three nights at Whitefriars during a 5 week tour of the UK. Settle was a good base for touring Yorkshire and we were more than happy with the accommodation. The building gives reminders of a manor house surrounded by a spacious garden and plenty of off street parking. It is right in the centre of Settle a short... More
