I stayed here for approximately 4 weeks while working in Cleveland. It's like a time machine back to the 80's as it has not been decorated since then. One week I checked in went to the room found it had a bathroom so dirty it could have been the toilet from trainspotting staff gave me another room but no apology.... More

They took the reasonably-priced and decent-looking menu off us and gave us freshly printed ones with poorer choice at higher prices (it was also littered with spelling mistakes - chicken "brest" was a favourite - and a random mix of font and text sizes). We were amused by the text written above the door, but considering the number of spelling... More

Stayed here this weekend with my wife. The rooms are tired and the bed wasn't very supportive, woke at 5am with back ache! Saying that, we enjoyed the stay! The room was clean, the staff were great, the gym and pool are free for people staying and are well worth the money. The breakfast was a good standard and the... More

Stayed in this place for 3 nights. The hotel is shabby as others have said, looks dated at best and wouldnt be out of place as a B&B in a seaside town. The staff are generally unfriendly and unhelpful, service at the hotel restaurant is painful at best. I ate 4 meals in the restaurant. All of them came with... More

Stayed at the Sporting lodge again, friendly staff, room ok, bit tired but has everything you need. Did not get a chance to use the sporting facilities but they looked very good. A lot of non residents use the Gym and pool. Breakfast was good with wide sellection of cooked or cold food. Good location off A19. May need to... More

We have just returned from a 3 day, 2 night break and had the pleasure of staying at the Sporting Lodge. From arrival to departure, nothing was too much trouble. The staff are really friendly and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The room was superb, spotless and very comfortable. The meals were absolutely delicious and the menu... More

We stayed for two nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The room was on the first floor and, although there were events going on in the hotel, we were not troubled by any noise. The gym was well equipped and all the equipment was in working order. Apart from the restaurant staff, who were very helpful, we found the... More
