Don't go. That's the only advice I can give. Apart from its great location, I don't see any good reason to stay at the Gower hotel. Windows are so poorly insulated that it gives you the impression you sleep in the street. To top it all, staff is quite unfriendly and the breakfast is not even average. More

Stayed at the Gower while up in London to see a show - December 2011. Convenient location - just a few minutes level walk from Paddington Mainline / Underground. Friendly, welcoming staff on Reception and at breakfast. Tsering, Receptionist, was particularly helpful with advice on Underground and Bus services for getting about. Room was of good size, clean and comfortable... More

I chose the hotel for the location. I've been travelling to developing countries but never have I seen a hole like this. A lot of noise in the hotel at night. Bed bugs. This hotel is terribly infested. I haven't slept a minute. They promised me a refund but in the end I got nothing. There are many much better... More

Stayed at this hotel for the first time earlier this week. It's much better than many of the other reviews suggest. Would I stay here with my wife? Very unlikely but would I stay here again as a single business traveller paying nett account who wants a comfortable bed and hot water? For sure I would. Hotel is basic but... More

We stayed for one night. Reception was welcoming, room on 4th floor, no lift. Room clean, reasonable size. Bathroom a little tired, but clean. Room was quiet, bed comfortable. Breakfast room is in basement, a little cramped. Food was fine, service friendly. Hotel is situated 10 min walk from Paddington station, 10 mins from Hyde Park. Suited our requirements well.... More

Need we say more? We arrived for a two night stay and our instant reaction was that the hotel was run down. As we booked through late rooms for a reasonable price we thought nothing more until my partner awoke on the second morning to find she had been eaten alive by bed bugs. After our return home my partner... More

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Hyde Park as we were attending 'Proms In The Park' and stayed for two nights. Again we went with an open mind having read varied reviews on here. To be frank the hotel is in need of complete modernisation. The rooms are small (we were in room 303 which is quite a... More

Think small: Small room, small bath, small stairway. Be prepared to carry your suitcase up to your room. Breakfast was a good start to each day, full English if you wanted it. Front reception was rather ornery, but let you keep your own drinks in the fridge at reception if you asked nicely. Housekeeping/breakfast staff were nice. Bathroom could definitely... More
