We travelled 120 miles with our 4 year old daughter, only to find the whole hotel stank. The floor of our room was covered in crumbs and the bath had a large revolting plug of human hair (assumption: it was human). The carpet was wet and sticky ...yuk!. Last minute trip to London, desperate for a room in the area. Saw a decent price on the website so booked. Never again. Awful place - in desperate need of refurbishment. Nothing felt clean. Was so happy to leave. One plus point, staff on reception were pleasant. Unfortunately one of the worst places I have ever stayed. More

On the plus side the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are cheap. On the minus side the hotel needs a complete refurbishment - walls need repainting, carpet should be taken out and shot. If Travelodge ever wish to rival Premier Inn they have got to raise their game. More

Stayed here with friends for 1 night whilst going to a concert at the O2 so just wanted somewhere to sleep and it fulfilled that function perfectly well. Definitely needs some investment as is starting to look tatty, but for £19 in London, need I say more. More

This hotel falls well below the basic standards set by travelodge, which to be honest are slipping anyway, and smells of either bad management at the hotel or just flogging an assest until it completely breaks down. This Hotel by far is the most unreasonably priced, unbelieveably dirty & the staff are almost non-existant. This hotel provided me with a room on the ground floor, no TV remote Control, No Air Con, No Pillows, Dirty Linen. When I complained I was told they cannot do anything. This review refers to the Gants Hill Travelodge, rather than the centrally placed one in Ilford. We arrived at 4pm, being greeted by a less than informative and a somewhat un-enthusiastic receptionist, located at a reception desk in what could best be described as a dilapidated, tired and run down building in a less than salubrious part of London suburbia....
