As you can see from the other reviews, this hotel is well situated on the South Bank with most sights and attractions in the vicinity of The Globe/Tate/St Pauls in walkable distance. The check-in was welcoming and efficient. The rooms are small but clean and tidy and perfect for an overnight stay. I wouldn't stay here with kids unless I... More

Pros - Reasonable price - walking distance to thames & tate modern & st pauls & millenium bridge & shakespear theatre - starbux, pret a manger across the street Cons - Temperature controls in the rooms seem flakey / unreliable. Overly warm sometimes. - *terrible service ** - TV started spontaneously turning off. Called front desk , after 30 minutes... More

My husband and I booked a room here for 1 night. We were up in London to see a show and fancied a night away from the kids. The location is spot on; very close to Waterloo (it took about 15 minutes to walk) and behind the tate modern on the south bank. Because it was a couple of blocks... More

LOCATION The hotel is few streets back from Tate Modern, so you're quite near to the riverside path at Bankside. The nearest tube stations are Southwark and Borough, each about a 5 to 10 minute walk away. There are several restaurants and cafes in close proximity and Borough Market is a short walk away. This is a good location to... More

I recently completed a 2-night stay at the Mercure London City Bankside and I have to say that it was a VERY positive experience — and coincidentally, it was my very first time staying at an Accor property. As others have said, the location is great — easy walking distance to a great many of London's attractions AND the client... More

I started off by really liking this hotel. The location - South Bank - is one of my favourites, you are minutes from the River and Borough market is just along the road. For the price it was a bargain and the room was probably one of the biggest I've had in London. Spotlessly clean as well. Reception staff were... More

I have no complaints at all about this hotel. The check in was very efficient and all staff members were very friendly. The room was very clean and everything was in good shape. Very close to the Southwark tube station. Breakfast was excellent, great way to start your day. More

Stayed here as part of a pre-Christmas shopping trip on 2-5th Dec. When we arrived I wasn't feeling very well and was hoping to check in before 2pm (the standard check-in time). That was possible but the member of staff at reception told us that they only had small rooms available so early and if we could wait an hour... More

My overall experience of this hotel was excellent, right from my initial phone booking which was handled by a most articulate and courteous gentleman through to an email request for feedback following our stay. I provided feedback and put a comment regarding the TV blaring out loud pop music at breakfast which prompted an apologetic email from the manager. This... More

I booked this hotel through Tesco Clubcard Rewards for a theatre visit to London. We were pleasantly surprised to be given a Privilege room. This was on the 6th floor with a view of a demolition site but this didn't matter as we were out most of the time. The room was very comfortable if a bit hot but we... More
