I stayed overnight here because we were holding an evening meeting in one of the function rooms. With no staff in the building overnight and lying in bed listening to the only other guest creaking around in the room above you, these rooms are not for the easily spooked. The tired bijou fittings and the triangular bath with sides like... More

I had a lovely stay at the City rooms I was advised that the reception isn't manned for 24hrs but I was arriving slightly later so they arranged for there to be a member of staff on site and they were very helpful and suggested a great place to eat near by also. The room was Lovely and the bed... More

Be aware, this is not a hotel, it's a function suite with 4 "serviced rooms". With a City centre location, it's well placed for exploring Leicester City Centre. The tiny, (park 'round the back, walk around to the front), car park is free but easy to miss and doesn't ooze secure or convenience. The idea of tomorrows "continental breakfast" being... More

I am sorry you had some problems during your stay, we would of happily moved you to another room or had the problems looked at. We are more of a venue than a hotel that is true and we do not have a reception thats manned after 8pm but we always have someone who's contactable and we explain that on... More

My friend said this was the worst place she'd ever seen. Surly staff, dodgy catering, unfriendly... A wedding venue??? Ha ha ha according to her More

I don't really see how this is a valid review when its a 'My friend says' and is more like a joke than something that will actually benefit anyone. More

We liked the location and atmosphere, friendly people. The real issue is, that almost nothing in the bathroom was working properly, like toilet seat, window cannot be opened properly, dirty shower with type of mold, floor is uneven for some reason. The breakfast is prepacked from evening before and the carpet needs a serious refresh. If all these issues would... More

The rooms are really big, nicely furnished and equipped. The bathroom is enormous, the bath is easily bige enough for two and the shower is impressive. Lots of lovely cool touches in the room, the taps and lighting are great. The only downside would be the amount of steps we had to climb, we stayed in room 4 and had... More

I chose this based on previous trip advisor reviews, which were pretty spot on. True, the building is old, but it has the associated grandeur of older buildings. The room and bathroom was massive and comfortable. The rooms are at the back and are very quiet for a city centre location. The location really is useful as you are right... More

Read the other reviews to discover the details of the building, rooms and location. It's all true and well said. I'm writing about the wonderful service from a truly friendly staff. Although we are not demanding travellers we do expect quality service and staff who know what that means. The few requests we did make were responded to the way... More

It's an old building with lots of character, and in some places eems rather tatty, so when we first arrived it doesn't give the best impression. We had to walk up what seemed like steep flights of stairs tot eh very top of the buidling, and it is only when we got in the room that I have to say... More
