We recieved an email from the hotel advising us a pool competition would be on whilst we were there and did we wish to reconsider dates. We weren't able to, so wondered what we were letting ourselves in for. However, the hotel is spacious and apart from the smokers in the entrance, we did not notice the competition. Our room... More

I stayed in the Imperial at the end of January whilst on a business trip. The hotel was very very tired. At night I selected to eat in the bar area, the food was very very over priced and the menu was priced differently from that on display out side the door, which was a lesser price! The quality of... Planned trip as surprise present with theatre tickets so splashed out on sea view luxury room at £175 per night incl breakfast. Breakfast was best part! Excellent food and helpful staff. Room disappointing. Faded glory. Only a queen size bed, shower over tiny bath, not step in sort. Very noisy until 4 am as people returned to rooms, made worse... More

Stayed 20th and 21st January 2012. Had a family room overlooking the promenade, it was large and spacious, clean and well equipped. The wind was dreadful all weekend so a bit of a draft through the window, but its an old building and kids loved watching waves crashing onto promenade. Hotel a bit dated admittedly and the some large cracks... More

We have stayed here many times, usually out of convenience and knew what to expect but it has gone seriously down hill since our last visit about 6months ago. the rooms are very variable, at best you get an average 4 star room and at worst a sad looking 2 star room. we were given a family room, a Kings... Spent Christmas here, travelled with Shearings. Room 357 I organised room as i required a disability room, if possible, as Shearings dont bother too much with small details like that, and you get what you are given. Room very dated. Window opened about 4 or 5 inches, very hot even with the window open all the time.(Radiator was on off... More

Looks grand on the outside and the public areas are fairly smart. Bedroom was very small, noisy and draughty due to old window and radiator not working. Think other rooms are much better but we were unlucky. Staff tried to fix radiator but couldn't so brought us a heater. Although it was a Saturday night the restaurant was closed for... More

My wife and myself recently stayed here as part of a music weekend,as it was close to my wifes birthday,I booked a suite for which I paid a premium of £50 per night. The room was split over 2 levels which was quirky until the wind started to blow and could be heard whistling through the rafters. On the first evening we...
